ACCOMPLISHMENTS and achieved goals

  • Replaced long-time host of 15 years —maintained staff.

  • Developed a voice, plan, and strategy to reintegrate brand into show.

  • Trained on-air talent at major market level.

  • Attended local stand-up and improv performances to scout available talent.

  • Created, funded, and executed marketing plans to promote show.

  • Developed, distributed and maintained complex character arcs, based on demographic interests, for each on-air host.

  • Changed POV of show presentation for listener to feel included. (As 5th member, not just “overhearing other people talk.”)

  • Created relatable and unique benchmark bits based on character development.

  • Focused on local community and what affects them. No celebrity or filler gossip content.

  • Executed “fact-based only” news segments.

  • Attended 3+ events /wk to meet public and understand listeners.

  • Dedicated 2hrs per day to interact + reply to listeners on social media.

  • Hosted small intimate events and live large-scale events.

  • Took classes in everything from content creation to team management.

 

RESULTS

  • TSL rose from :15 to 1:00hr within 3 months.

  • Went from 16th to top 3 in 3 months. (18-34.)

  • Cume peaked at + 6 share.

  • Show’s daily podcast averaged 3.7k download.

  • Local social influence skyrocketed and created many join-brand events + endorsements.

  • Radio and personal events sold out.

  • Dormant station social media reignited.

  • Younger demo (gen-z) became interested in station for the first time.

  • Broke worldwide story (StolenColon 2018)

  • Billboard Magazine Story on station revamp.

  • Community voted “Best of KC” radio personality.

 

2020 Pandemic RESPONSE

  • Relayed only fact-based information from highest sources at that time.

  • Highlighted feelings of vulnerability, fear, and importance of mental health.

  • Chose positive and realistic content to present on show to keep listeners spirits up.

  • Found creative solutions to all major cancellations. (EX: St. Patrick’s Day Parade cancelled; we made one up. No in-studio performances? Show staff started a band.)

    Show was cancelled Sept 14, 2020 as part of Entercom’s company wide COVID cutbacks.
