US BANK did the same thing to me 1 month ago! Except, I didn’t get a letter and they just cancelled my card without calling me, writing a letter or anything. They said someone was trying to use my card but they never said who, what, when, where, why or how. The only thing I could think of was that I bought a book from Borders. However, I used their handy little computers to find the book I wanted from an outside seller because they didn’t have it. The outside seller was Half Price Books here in Washington State. Whatever…now I have a Flexperks card I can rack up miles if I use it as credit and not debit. That’s important. My wife yells at me when I don’t do it as credit and get the miles.

OMGOSH…I had that same exact letter…only from another bank! Stupid SOBs who have to go rip other people off just because they know how to rig systems to copy numbers…*cringe*

why do you even fucking care what these losers at Safeway even think? But I am sorry that this happened to you because it happened to me too. I forgot to activate my new card and I was in line with a pile of groceries and was declined. Not funny!

It was US Bank. I have since closed my account there and got a bank up here in Maine but it totally blows. I found out something was up when Dunkin Donuts declined my debit card. Not as much fun as your Safeway story.

Hey Jordan, I had something similar happen right after Thanksgiving and apparently people in Canada took almost $1000 from my account. And it took me just over a month to get it back.
