If I see an instance where I can make money, I do it. Especially being unemployed, you learn to be savvy.
While checking out Ebay for xmas presents, I ran across a ‘Hardshell Louis Vuitton’ iPhone case. I liked how it looked leather, and had the ‘apple’ cut out of the face..
The auction went up to $53, (which was much higher than my bid)…so I pouted and moved on. I checked Craigslist the next day to see what they had for LV cases, and SOMEONE IN KENT was selling the same case I bid on.. for $8!
So I call the guy, have him put 3 on hold, and rush down there.
The cases are cool on the outside… the faux leather looks perfect, so does the print…only thing, is it’s printed on the cheapest plastic phone case ever made….so.. it looks great on the outside, but NOT the inside….
So, I throw it on Ebay… It sits at $57 for 6 days…but at the last minute, a bidding war started.
I refreshed and it was $75, I refreshed, $100, refreshed, $120, refreshed, $149, and then it finally ended on $150!! I couldn’t believe it.
Now this would have been a con-man’s DREAM….but, NOT MINE… I felt so bad, cos I paid $8 for something that went for $150……And I was afraid that the person would leave bad feedback (since I am banned from ebay, it’s my girlfriends ebay account that I was using to sell the case).
I put what had happened on Facebook, and my friends were mixed. Half said, ‘take the money’. The other half said, ‘be honest!’
So I was honest.. Told the person ‘it’s not worth $150, lets work something else out’… I have YET to hear from them after that…… Thanks honesty!
