I’m a WAY better musician/songwriter than I am radio personality. That’s for sure.

I’ve been in bands since I was 12. I was accepted to Berklee College of Music. I was pursued by a major record label about an ‘artist development deal’. My bands have opened for The Gossip, The Forecast, Team Dresh (and some other big bands I can’t remember now)

But all my life, all I’ve wanted was to be in a vocal group, like everyone was in in the late 50’s.

There is something AMAZING about the sound of the Beach Boys. Harmonies. The sound of oldies. Your grandparents record and that scratchy sound you get when the needle hits the record…..

It’s been a slow process to find musicians that are amazing at an instrument, amazing vocalists AND nice people, but we’re almost there. If you like the sound of The Early Beatles, The Early Beach Boys, if you have a soft spot for Doo-Wop music, and that song “Rock Around The Clock”……then check us out:

The East End - Mates Of Souls

The whole point I am posting this is cos my friend Nikko shot some photos of me and one other member of the band….. Here they are:

10-9-09 Dash (guitar/vocals) and I (guitar/vocals) working on our new song “Be  My Girl Tonight”. This is historic for us, because it’s the first East End song that has an actual Doo-Wop part

dashDash working on another guitar part for “Be My Girl Tonight”. This guy is one of the most amazing musicians I’ve ever met, one of the best singers. And is an all-around nice guy. Anyone who has been in a band knows how hard it is to find people that are those three things.

ourrecordingstudioThis is where we get to practice, for free. It’s ‘The Studio’ at 107.7 The End. I may have been laid off, but the PD still lets us go in at night and record our demo/practice. Very sweet.
